Finally this North Bay shot Hallmark Mystery flick Dearly Depotted, makes it to the Canadian screen on W Network, Sunday January 15th at 9 pm. Abby Knight, ex-lawyer and crime buff, and the owner of Bloomers Flower Shop, is having a week to be reckoned with. A reluctant bridesmaid at her drama queen cousin’s wedding, Abby ends up not just doing the flowers...but having to find out who murdered a wedding crasher. Starring Brooke Shields, Brennan Elliott and Beau Bridges. An incredible experience with the Northern Ontario film community, more can be read about my time there with this lovely article by Ruth Hill from My Devotional Thoughts. If you don't want to read that, then the images below sum up much of the adventure in iphone pics. And most importantly, my most treasured find among everything in North Bay, Judy Thorne, who in her converted garage shop made all my costume dreams come true between bridesmaid dresses and stunning custom wedding attire for Sonja Smitts based on a grainy photo and the perfect emerald green tafetta.
**Sorry Claudia B for deleting your comment by accident. Those necklaces were Brooke's own so I don't know where she got them.

Last fall I had the superb honour of dressing Brooke Sheilds (who is to be accurately described as a dream) for a Hallmark Mystery Series movie called 'Mum's the Word', based on books by Kate Collins who I got to chat with on set. Also starring Brennan Elliott, Beau Bridges and Kate Drummond, this terrific cast with a terrific crew, took over Main Street in North Bay to create the Bloomers Flower Shop. Airing on Hallmark Sunday January 17th, 9/8 c Trailer here |
