Love Jacked (2018)
The story centres on MAYA, a headstrong 28-year-old with artistic ambitions – a strong contrast to what her father ED wants: a dutiful daughter to run the family store. Ed is shocked when Maya takes her assertions of independence a step further and decides to travel to South Africa for inspiration and returns with a fiancé.
We shot half of this 'dramedy' outside of Toronto, and half in Cape Town, South Africa. Incredible cast and crew, and it was really adventurous to discover where I could have pants made that were tall enough for 'Mtumbie' who had a 36" inseam- because no one is THAT tall down there. One of the many highlights for me was dressing of a Xhosa village, as well as the stunning scenery everywhere we went in South Africa. I saw more of the country being part of a film crew than I would've ever as a tourist. Awesome experience.
